Blades youngsters' switch

Posted on: Tue 24 Jun 2008

Blades prospects Ryan Cresswell and Liban Abdi are to continue their football development with Ferencvaros.

Abdi, 19, and centre-back Cresswell, a year older, will play for the Hungarians on loan next season as United's sister club again seek promotion back to the top flight.

Cresswell last season played 24 league games for Rotherham, Morecambe and Macclesfield, and that after 15 appearances with Halifax Town in the Conference during the previous campaign.

Earlier this year Abdi netted United's goal in the victory at Ferencvaros and both he and Cresswell have been given two year deals at the Lane.

They will be joined at the Fradi by former United midfielder James Ashmore who was released this summer but given an opportunity to stay within the United 'family'. He has signed a pro contract with Ferencvaros for next season.
